- This young female presented with progressive visual difficulty, mainly at
- Examination revealed reduced visual acuity bilaterally; however, fields were Fundoscopy revealed a waxy pallor of the optic disc and there was pigmentation of the retina in a bone spicule pattern.
- There were no other focal neurological signs and importantly there are no cerebellar signs and there are no features of a peripheral neuropathy. In summary, I think this patient has retinitis pigmentosa.
How is this problem affecting the patient?
- Currently, this is affecting her vision at night, especially when driving.
